Mitsubishi Electric Moves Machine Tool Production out of China

Mitsubishi Motors has joined fellow Japanese automakers in moving production of US-bound exports out of China. The move is intended to minimize their exposure to the growing trade war between Beijing and Washington.

The machine tool maker relocated output of laser processing machines and electrical discharge machines from Dalian to Nagoya. The Dalian site in China had been making about 70% and 30% of these machines for the American market, respectively.

The Chinese site will continue making machine tools for the Chinese market.
