Sharjah: Police to Crack Down On Modified Vehicles

Modified vehicles are causing problems for the residents and they want the police to take action.

Stunts by drivers and harmful emission caused by these vehicles are raising the concerns in several neighborhoods in the emirate. Sharjah police have started taking action against these vehicles and have already seized 81 vehicles which breach modification standards set by the emirates authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).

Meanwhile, Sharjah workshops are being inspected by Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), to check if they abide by Esma's vehicle modification procedures. Department is shutting down unlicensed service centers, an official said.
