SBP: High Taxes on Car Imports May Hurt Competition

The central bank of Pakistan has said that higher duties on the car import may discourage competition in the local market.

In the June 2017, the federal government imposed regularity duties on the import of cars under gift scheme, personal baggage, or transfer of residence schemes as commercial imports are not allowed in the country.
