Per Rho Motion’s data, global sales of electric vehicles (EVs) — including plug-in hybrids — rose 23% in October 2025, reaching around 1.9 million units. Europe was the standout, with strong demand in Germany, France, and the UK fueling the upswing.
In contrast, North American EV sales slumped 41%, a drop linked to the expiration of a major U.S. EV tax credit. Analysts say that loss of incentives is cooling demand, raising questions about the sustainability of sales momentum.
