Volkswagen Shows Off its Autonomous EV Charging Robot Concept

One way to increase the adoption of electric vehicles is to make charging more convenient for drivers. German carmaker Volkswagen aims to make charging electric vehicles as easy as possible, and the company's latest concept is a charging robot that will do the job automatically. Volkswagen this week revealed a prototype of its portable charging robot. Autonomous robots are one of the charging concepts Volkswagen hopes to expand its electric vehicle charging infrastructure over the next few years. This carmaker auto-filling robot is mainly designed for indoor parking garages. Drivers can simply park the car in an open space and the autonomous robot will initiate a charging session without human assistance after the driver requests it.
