Tesla Chief Elon Musk hints at the Company's New Advanced Batteries for Electric Vehicles
Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to post clues for the first time. In a tweet, Musk wrote: "400 Wh / kg with a high life cycle, produced by volume (not just in a lab) is not far away. Probably 3-4 years." Musk made the comments in response to a Twitter thread from Sam Korus, an analyst at ARK Investment Management LLC, explaining why Musk continues to hint at a Tesla electric plane. For most people unfamiliar with the technical side of electric vehicle batteries, 400 watt-hours per gram (Wh / kg) refers to the energy density of batteries and capacitors, which translates to the amount of energy that batteries can supply per hour. The higher the Wh / kg, the greater the range of the vehicle.
