Dubai Rescue Teams Save Motorist from Submerged Car
Dubai police rescued the driver of a car that was submerged in Al Mamzar Creek. On Friday, a team of divers secured the 41-year-old Arab motorist before lifting the car out of the water with a crane. Lt. Col. Ali Abdullah Al-Qassim Al-Naqbi, director of maritime rescue for the Dubai police, said the woman accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake while parking. A rescue team, including Dubai police divers, was immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived at the site in a matter of minutes, "he said. They assured the driver that he had managed to get out of his car before reaching the deep waters. Our divers located the car 30 meters from the shore and then pulled it out of the water with a police crane.
