How Renault wants to conquer Pakistan

The group has announced that it has signed a framework agreement for the assembly and distribution of Renault vehicles with the Emirati company Al-Futtaim. Objective: sell vehicles from 2019.

The two partners are keen to start the construction of the plant in the first quarter of next year. This site will be located in Karachi, the economic and financial capital of Pakistan in the south of the country. The first vehicles should be distributed from 2019, before a " rise in cadence in 2020", announces Renault.

The builder, therefore, sees his proposed installation in Pakistan in the process of being concretized (subject to validation of regulatory approvals), after the failure of initial negotiations with two local partners, Dewan and Gandhara.
