The Government of Pakistan imposed strict Policy for Imports of Vehicles yet it rises again

The importers using illegal ways after the strict policy imposed by the government for vehicles . The importers are using the gift scheme through which they are using the passports of Pakistani nationals living in Dubai cars are imported directly to Pakistan. The government is unaware of this violation of policy and media has raised concerns about the car import policy imposed by the government.

The SRO 52 which prohibits the misuse of the car import policy allows the import of used car under 3 circumstances:

1) Gift Scheme

2) Transfer of Residence

3) Personal Baggage

These policies are massively misused by the commercial importers. Only 5% imports are from the original overseas Pakistani. Approximately 550 units were imported in Sep 2019.
