Punjab Excise to Issue License for Manufacturing Number Plates

Excise and Taxation department of Punjab is mulling over reducing the cost of manufacturing computerized number plates by issuing a license to third-party manufacturers.

The department has compiled the recommendations to reduce the manufacturing cost of these number plates as it aims to provide them at a lower rate to the vehicle owners.  

It is expected that the cost per plate for cars and motorbikes will reduced by Rs.200 and Rs.100 respectively if the recommendation get approval.
