Car Distribution Alliance in India is ended by Nissan

NEW DELHI--Nissan Motor Co. (NSANY) Friday ended a nearly six-year-old partnership with Hover Automotive India Pvt. Ltd., an independent sales and marketing company, to distribute its vehicles in the South Asian country.

Until now, Nissan was the only company in India which didn't market cars on its own. It tied up with Hover in 2008 to sell its vehicles across India, provide after-sales support and develop a network of dealers. The Japanese auto maker would now sell its own brand of vehicles as well as those of its resurrected Datsun brand in India directly via separate dealerships dedicated to the two brands.
