Dubai's Driverless Cab Now on Trial Run

Residents of Dubai Silicon Oasis would be among the first to spot the UAE’s self-driving taxi in action – as the Dubai Police and RTA kicked off the cab’s test run on Monday.

But, the country’s first autonomous taxi is not available to the public, clarified the authorities. It will be on a trial phase for three months. Currently, the driverless taxi is running at designated routes in Silicon Oasis.

According to the RTA, the current trail operation of the driverless vehicles is the first of its kind in the Gulf region.
