Rough Acceleration

Rough Idle
Engine misfire may also occur on idle. Your engine senors will get defected valves and the air-fuel mixture will get messed up. It can create an uneven idle which can lead to engine completely shut down on idle.
Vibrations
When an engine comes out of the factory, it is managed to get as few vibrations as possible. If one cylinder is not firing correctly, the engine will get unbalanced. It can lead to heavy vibrations inside your cabin on acceleration or at idle.
Check Engine Light
Modern cars come with many sensors on cars. If any sensor feels that something is not right with the engine, it will send the information to the engine control unit. The control unit decides about the seriousness of the problem. In case the problem occurs many times, the control unit light up the check engine light so it can notice that something is not with the engine.

The sounds of engines vary from each other based on their specifications and other factors. The sounds of V8 engines vary from a four-cylinder engine. If the sound of your car is extraordinary weird, it is most likely misfire that is the car is experiencing.
