 Nissan To Sell 1.5 Mln Zero Emission Vehicles By 2016

One of the giant automakers Nissan Motors Co., Ltd has launched its new Six Years environment plan. The program named as Nissan Green 2016, looking forward to sell 1.5 million Zero Emission vehicles.  

The new Nissan Green Program 2013 will focus on three areas including the following.

  • Reduction of Carbon Footprint
  • Shift to Renewable Energy
  • Increase In the diversity of resources which are being used by Nissan

NGP 2016 tells that Nissan is aiming to make history in Zero Emission vehicles sales and by 2016, its cumulative sales will be 1.5 million across the Renault Nissan Alliance. One of the spokespersons of Nissan, on behalf of the Alliance said that it will be leading the development of an all-new fuel cell electric vehicle.

 The company is also aiming to get 35% fuel economy improvement than in 2005 on the average of corporate for all the cars of Nissan sold in China, Europe, United States and in Japan. Compared to 2005, it seems 20% of reduction per vehicle of CO2 emission of corporate activities. It will also enhance the rate of usage rate of recycled materials to 25 %.

The President and Chief Executive officer of Nissan Carlos Ghosn said that most of the consumer are now demanding in-line products with their values that include lower carbon footprint oriented cars and trucks. Nissan also wants to be the part of the campaign of solution towards a sustainable society.
