GM Extends Shutdown of EUV and Bolt EV Production

Automaker General Motors is in the early stages of its transition to electric vehicles with the launch of the Hummer EV, the Bright EV600 electric delivery van, and the Chevy Silverado E and Cadillac Lyriq electric pickups due to arrive shortly. However, GM's lower-end Bolt EV and EUV models are currently not on sale due to a massive battery recall in July due to the risk of battery fire. The recall includes 9,335 2019 Bolt EVs and 63,683 EVs and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUVs, including 52,403 EVs sold in the US. The Bolt EV battery is warranted by GM for 8 years or 100,000 miles, so repairs are free to customers.
