Honda, Toyota plan to roll out fuel cell cars in 2015

Toyota is also developing a sedan which will be sold in Japan and other major overseas markets- United States and Europe. Toyota’s fuel-cell sedan will also be inducted by 2015 in the aforementioned automotive markets. The Japanese Used Cars Exporter eyes increasing production of the sedan to 10,000 units in a year in the next five years. It is being speculated that these fuel-cell cars could come with an introductory price ranging below 10 million yen. However, Toyota plans on cutting on prices to 3 to 5 million yen by 2020s

 

Both the auto cos proffer fuel-cell cars on rent with users belonging primarily from municipalities and businesses. Honda is expected to develop a sedan which could launch by November 2015. Rumours suggest that Honda’s underdevelopment fuel sedan will come with a capacity to run around 500kmsin a single charge which is double the capacity of an electric car. The company aims at manufacturing 5,000 units by 2020, the vehicle will be made available for sale in Japan along with other international markets like United States and Europe.

 

Leading auto makers from Japan, Honda Motor Co Ltd and Toyota Motor Corp are contemplating to launch fuel-cell vehicles by next year. The zero-emission fuel cars are efficient in covering longer distances as compared to the electric car. According to recent reports, Honda and Toyota plan on manufacturing 1,000 units of fuel-collect-friendly cars annually.
