UAE mulls Car ‘Control Device’ for Young Drivers

The Federal Traffic council at the Ministry of interior has considered installing a “control device” on the vehicles of youngsters for the initial two years after they get their driving license. The council suggested that the plan be reviewed by the ministry’s youth council.

This came as the council held the sixth meeting of the year. It assessed the youth and traffic safety report that focused on the road behavior of those aged between 18 and 35 years.

According to the council, the third traffic awareness campaign of 2019 will kick off by the end of this week. The focus of the campaign will be on summer traffic safety.
