Buying a used car has many advantages. You can find a car at a price of your choice. You can get many other benefits. But, finding a good car is not requires some good research and investigative skills. Ability to spot problems and determining how reliable a vehicle is can save you from many problems. You can avoid buying a lemon when buying a used car by following these issues.

Check the Reliability Record

A good way to avoid buying a bad car is to select a model with a good reliability record before beginning your shopping. You can read reviews of cars online. You should also review the vehicle history charts

Check the Exterior

Check exterior carefully to evaluate the car. You should walk around the car looking for dents, mismatched body parts, and chipped windows.

Use a magnet to check body panels. You can take a look at the vehicle if the magnet does not stick to the panel.

Check the Interior

Taking a look at the cabin can reveal many things. Sagging driver’s seat and prematurely worn pedals can indicate high mileage of the vehicle. An airbag warning light that stays lit may indicate that there is an issue with a bag. Pay attention to smell it can be hard to get rid of.

Check under the Hood

You should make it sure that battery, engine, and radiator are relatively grease-free and not have any corrosion. Look for wet spots that may indicate leaking oil or fluids.
