- Different countries have rules relating to their own country. But it is a rule that used car that are more than four years old, are not allowed to be shipped in the UAE.
Right Hand Cars vs. Left Hand Cars
It may not look good to many people but only left-hand vehicles are allowed in UAE. Although, it is possible to import a right-hand vehicle, but the vehicle won’t get registered because it is not usable on UAE roads. Required Documents for importation:-
There are some documents that are required to import Japanese cars into UAE.
- Original Bill Of Lading (BOL):- Bill of lending should include model, make, chassis number, engine number, color and type of car.
- Export certificates: Export certificates that is issues by traffic department should be presented
- Purchase/Commercial Invoice: It is important to present purchase or Commercial invoice.
You should also present insurance policy, authority letter, passport copy, origin certificate and car condition report from load port.
Custom Fees and Inspection:
Customs department inspects all the vehicles that are imported in UAE. Every imported vehicle has to go through this process.
Be ready to pay for custom fees.
Shipping Ports:
Recommended Port is Jabel Ali although other ports are also used. Mostly RORO method is used for vehicle shipment.
