5 Tips for Driving a Fuel Efficient Automatic Car

Traffic jams that make car gasoline wasteful have become a common problem in big cities in the world, especially if the number of vehicles circulating is not balanced with the existing roads, plus drivers who are not disciplined and obey traffic rules will only make car gasoline wasteful due to traffic jams. Overall that makes car gasoline wasteful, the average vehicle user spends 32 hours on the road each year which makes car gasoline wasteful. From research conducted by Inrix Global Scorecard researchers, some time ago it was collected ten cities in the world whose roads have traffic jams that are severe enough to cause wasteful car gasoline and can also make the car tow heavy.

The results were obtained by analyzing the average hours spent in traffic jams for 1,064 cities in 38 countries, as well as the percentage of time spent by drivers enjoying traffic congestion which automatically also makes cars wasteful of gasoline. As a driver, frequent traffic jams mean that the car's engine works harder and wasteful car gasoline has become a consequence that must be accepted. Even though the engine work is heavy and makes car gasoline wasteful, it doesn't mean you have to give up.

Automatic cars have a number of advantages over manual cars. Automatic car owners no longer need to step on the clutch and change gears using gears, because they are assisted by the computer system in the car. Unfortunately, there is a price to pay for that convenience. In addition to the price of automatic cars which are more expensive than manual cars, the fuel consumption of automatic cars is also known to be more wasteful. But don't worry, is there a way to make automatic cars more fuel-efficient than manual cars? Here are 5 ways you can do it.

Step on the Gas Pedal Consistently:

Many people tell drivers who feel their vehicles are wasteful, to send their feet to school. What does it mean? It turns out that the purpose of foot schooling is to be more patient in pressing the gas pedal while driving a car, as well as automatic cars. In order for automatic car fuel to be more efficient, the driver must step on the pedal constantly. Avoid the desire to step on the gas pedal deeply to achieve fast acceleration. Step on the pedal consistently and let the speed increase gradually. In addition, pay attention to the right timing when overtaking other cars. Because the timing is not right, for example when the road conditions in front are crowded, it will make you rush to want to overtake and step on the gas deeply so that it will suck up more fuel.

Pay Attention to the Carload:

The heavier the load on the car, the fuel becomes wasteful, you know, whether it's an automatic or manual car. It's a good idea to drop off items that you don't need to take with you when you travel. Also avoid car accessories that do not affect the performance of the car, because the accessories actually add to the weight of the car.

Keep Engine Spin:

One easy way to make sure you step on the gas pedal steadily is to pay attention to the needle or rotation per minute (RPM) indicator on the speedometer. This RPM shows how hard the engine is working, meaning that the higher the RPM the sign the engine is spinning faster and more fuel is being consumed. Maintain the RPM at 2,000-2,500 while walking leisurely with an automatic car. Maintaining the RPM in an automatic car is much easier to do than in a manual car, because an automatic car will raise the gear automatically according to the depth of your foot stepping on the gas pedal. If you step on the gas constantly, then the automatic car always ups the gear at the same RPM.  If you are in a hurry but still want to save fuel, keep the RPM not exceeding 3,000 RPM.

Neutralize the Teeth When There is a Chance to Stop Long Enough:

Automatic cars have the advantage that they can run on their own without the need to step on the gas pedal at a decent speed, this makes automatic car fuel consumption more wasteful. You can prevent the car from running automatically by positioning the gear into neutral when the car has been stopped for a long time, for example at a red light or at a traffic jam. Position the car in neutral so that the engine does not keep driving the car. In addition, it can save on brakes because there is no push from the engine to make the car go.

Adjust the Speed of the Car so You Don't Brake Too Often:

Because automatic cars can slide without the need to step on the gas pedal, sometimes the driver still wants to step on the gas pedal so the car runs too fast and immediately reflexively steps on the brakes so that the gas released is wasted. It's best to get used to keeping the speed of the car so that you don't brake immediately after stepping on the gas to save more fuel. Use the gas pedal only as additional power to make the car run faster. It's not difficult, isn't it, to make automatic cars more fuel efficient?
